About the Houston Gulf Coast Chapter
Thank you for visiting our
website! We invite you to join us during our monthly
meetings and become a member of our chapter. Meetings are
held the second Thursday of each month and include a variety
of professional development topics. Locations vary
throughout the Houston Gulf Coast area allowing our supplier
members to showcase their properties and planner members to
view different sites in a relaxed social atmosphere. Check
the “Monthly Meetings” section for the latest information
regarding meeting locations and educational topics.
Organization Profile
The Society of Government Meeting Professionals, established
in October 1981, is a national non-profit professional
organization of individuals involved in planning local,
state or federal government meetings – either on a full- or
part-time basis – and those individuals who supply services
to government planners. SGMP is dedicated to improving the
knowledge and expertise of these individuals through
education, training and industry relationships.
Chapter Profile
The Houston Gulf Coast Chapter of SGMP chartered on December
5, 2006. We offer a variety of opportunities for members to
get involved, including multiple leadership tasks, monthly
education programs, community service projects, regional and
national conferences, annual holiday party, annual silent
auction, and the chapter newsletter. Involvement with this
beneficial organization can improve your work productivity
